Marble Stories I

A cross-cultural collaboration

For Milano Design Week, Marimar launched a unique exhibition project featuring Italian-Brazilian designers Giorgio Bonaguro, Gustavo Martini and Ronald Sasson.

Three distinct creative visions brought together by a shared reflection on natural stone and its expressive, functional and symbolic potential.

One material, three interpretations

The concept was to explore marble in both conventional and experimental ways, through a collection of objects that reflect the dialogue between Italy and Brazil, the personal backgrounds of the designers, and a curated selection of stones.

Athos – Giorgio Bonaguro

Inspired by the azulejos of Athos Bulcão, the Athos side tables translate decorative pattern into three-dimensional volume.

Made from white Carrara marble and Azul Macaubas granite, they form a visual and cultural bridge between two continents.

Rise – Gustavo Martini

Rise reimagines the staircase archetype as a dreamlike and narrative element.

The furniture pieces, resting on sculpted steps or grounded by Nero Marquina marble, evoke movement and memory in a space without fixed coordinates.

Maas & Gocce – Ronald Sasson

Sasson presents two poetic designs: Maas, an armchair inspired by 1920s German expressionist architecture and Mendelsohn’s elegant fragmentation; and Gocce, a contemplative seat inspired by a verse from Brazilian poet Alice Ruiz.

Beyond the object

Marble Stories I is more than a design showcase – it’s a material narrative where natural stone becomes a vehicle of culture, memory and experimentation.

A project that reflects Marimar’s philosophy: connecting creative worlds through stone, with respect, curiosity and vision.
