Verona, the stone district

A world-class production district

Verona is not just a city of art: it’s also one of the world’s most important production hubs for natural stone processing.

In this territory, a network of companies covers every stage of the supply chain—from importing and processing raw materials to producing slabs, custom products and interior design solutions.

Specialization, technology and synergy

The success of this district doesn’t come from centralization, but from a well-developed economy of specialization. Each company plays a precise role within a highly integrated network.

This structure enables efficient resource use, constant technological evolution and a model of adaptation that is admired worldwide.

A strategic location

Verona’s strategic location—close to major transport routes and long a crossroads of international trade—has played a key role.

The city has developed a flexible, international supply chain, capable of sourcing materials from all over the world and processing them locally with high standards and fast service.

Marimar’s role

Within this ecosystem, Marimar plays a dual role. On one hand, we are a slab distributor across Europe, selecting stone from international quarries and transforming it—partially or entirely—in the Verona area.

On the other, we act as interior project developers, working with architects, fabricators and construction firms.

This hybrid approach keeps us close to both the material and the project. We provide technical and aesthetic consulting, speaking both with those who shape stone and those who imagine its use in space.

A virtuous model

The Verona district works because it enhances collaboration. Marimar is an active part of this system—combining technical expertise, design vision, and a capacity to speak the language of contemporary architecture.
