White on white is an installation freely inspired by the absolute white of the interiors of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, pioneer of late 19th century architectural modernism. For the Scottish designer, valuable ornaments had to be made of the most durable material and “placed where they were most stable”. Following his words, together with Marimar, we imagined a process of replacing and rewriting domestic ornaments in a solid and enduring material like natural stone, white of course.

A project between the ironic and the glitch that envisages geometric cushions, seating chairs and decorations in Nuvolato Calacatta, Namibian White, Calacatta Oro, Calacatta Viola, White Onyx, Alabaster Onyx, Crystal White in all the nuances and variations of white for a communal break room, just like in the meeting rooms he decorated in Scotland at the turn of the century.
