White on white
White on white
White on White is an installation freely inspired by the design universe of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, pioneer of British architectural modernism.
His pure and symbolic aesthetic—built on absolute white and geometric clarity—becomes an opportunity to explore a new poetics of ornament.
Stone, ornament and irony
Starting from Mackintosh’s belief that ‘ornament must be made of the most durable material and placed where it is most secure’, we imagined—together with Marimar—a process of replacing domestic ornament: from textile to stone.
Geometric cushions, seatbacks, decorations and chair forms are reinterpreted in solid, noble materials, turning fragile gestures into permanent statements.

All shades of white
The palette includes Namibian White, Calacatta Oro, Calacatta Viola, Bianco Onyx, Avorio Onyx, and Cristallo White.
Pure, veined, milky or translucent whites: a formal variation within chromatic unity, evoking the Scottish salons of the early 20th century—yet with a contemporary, ironic twist.
A collective pause
The space becomes a place of rest and reflection—a gentle architecture where irony merges with design and material becomes ornament.
The project was curated by Davide Fabio Colaci, once again shaping a visual and spatial narrative through natural stone.
