Marble Bar

A timeless micro-architecture

In the heart of Vienna, the American Bar designed by Adolf Loos in the early 1900s condenses his obsession with natural stone, geometry and ornamentation into just 27 square meters.

A compact yet incredibly rich space: inclusive, theatrical, modern—a redefinition of how interiors could be experienced.

A project of homage

With Marble Mar—a provisional name appearing in Loos’ early sketches—we set out to partially recreate the warm and rarefied atmosphere of the original, blending monument and scenography, rigor and wonder.

The project was curated by Davide Fabio Colaci, continuing the collaborative path with Marimar.

A faithful reinvention

This was not a replica, but a reinterpretative tribute: fidelity to spirit, more than form.

Through new techniques and experimentation, we made onyx as thin as a veil, simulated monolithic columns, and paired textures and finishes that update the original design language with a contemporary sensitivity.

Material as language

Natural stone once again becomes architecture, light, and ornament.

Each surface conveys a new meaning, adding value beyond the material itself: design as a statement, affirming the relevance of spatial thinking.
