Convivium
Convivium was born from the idea of making the most of the expressiveness of the stone material of the stones and marbles of Marimar, working on the microscale of the contemporary project. Ten objects for the table, from which the name Convivium derives, enhance the moment of sharing and being together, inhabiting the table as a sometimes surreal landscape, at the same time symbolic and functional.
Figure
Figure is a series of onyx candle holders inspired by the human and animal world. They are two-dimensional silhouettes of faces, hands and heads that rise on the table ready to protect and enhance the warm and timeless light of the candle. The slabs of green, white and pink onyx, cut and engraved in very thin layers, compose infinite variations for each silhouette, generating a variety of shades and transparencies. They are gentle figures for the banquet, precious ornamental elements that express an atypical relationship with the table and with their guests.

Rompinoci
Serizzo granite is the material that Matteo Agati uses for his Rompinoci table artifact. A rough and elegant object that alludes to the oval shape of the Roman circus to host the rite of breaking the hard shells of dried fruit. The propitiatory tradition of breaking the dried fruit at the table to eat its contents is not only a ritual of the feasts, but it is a convivial custom for many regions of southern Italy and specifically of Sicily, the designer’s region of origin. The single-material use of granite, with the expressive power of its small texture, leads back to an eternal and almost primitive ritual that tells of an ancient gesture, the one of “breaking with a stone” to obtain food.

Tovaglia
Tovaglia is a series of plates and accessories in polychrome marble for the table. The iconic motif of the checkered fabric is taken as inspiration to reproduce the pattern of the tablecloths of popular Italian taverns. A precious combination of marbles is used: red Francia, rosa perlino and biancone. The checkered pattern of the tablecloth loses its rigor on the curved surfaces of the objects to expand and shrink in unexpected graphics, generating visual interferences that abstract the object from its context, challenging the immaterial qualities of the material itself on a formal level.

Pivò
Pivò is a modular marble fruit bowl that uses Carnic gray combined with a soft Portuguese pink. The characteristics of these two stones seem to arise from their geometry: the first with an intense gray color and white veins is combined with cones with broken points, while the second, more tenuous, is combined with a sphere that acts as a hidden pivot in the union of the two truncated cones. The fruit bowl is composed of two twin figures joined by their smaller bases by a sphere capable of stabilizing in simple support through its own weight, but they can also be used separately. It is an object that works on the nature of the solids of rotation and that returns with the geometry the “visual weight” of the stones with which they were created.

Cupola
Cupola is a precious bread plate made of Portoro marble and Vienna straw, a tribute to the archetypes of Italian domes. The container is made up of two parts: a base in black stone spotted
with gold, which gives its name to the marble, and a wicker dome that protects the bread of the guests with the lightness of its intertwining. Vienna straw, an element of the popular tradition of our tables, combines in an unconventional way with the complexity of the geometry of its base, restoring great expressiveness to the grain of a stone so characterized. Cupola is a small table architecture!

Due
Due is a simple and measured travertine plate: a disc designed to be a centerpiece or a decomposed shape of a cutting board or tray. Its circular shape is as if “broken” into two symmetrical parts which, in a figurative way, organize the areas of use of its surface. They are complementary surfaces that function as a tray thanks to their lightness and manageability, it is useful for the “mise en place” for aperitifs, for the composition of small pastries and for breakfast, as well as a cutting board for small tastings. It is an element of limestone traditionally used in the architecture of great Roman buildings such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon, of which it assimilates the material and chromatic strength.

Vues du ciel
Philippe Tabet’s Vues du Ciel work consists of a pair of trays and a saltshaker for the table. Food is a subject widely used in art through the centuries and in this project, Philippe Tabet tells a side of the nutrition of our times with an ancient technique, the mosaic. The pieces are simple shapes inspired by the geometries created by fields for intensive agriculture, fish fasrming and salt drying fields. The inspiration for these objects wants to introduce an “ethical” and “aesthetic” key to the table and our daily life, formally proposing the image of places with polychrome marble and resin mosaics mixed with marble.

Uovocomune
Uovocomune is a project that is freely inspired by the tradition of the Renaissance banquet, a place where it was customary to build real ornamental compositions with the egg: edible object, archetype and symbol of the origin of the world. Through the red marble of Verona, a precious support has been created to bring the egg back to our parties, both as a single element and through a composition of shapes that hybridizes the support and the egg itself. With a simple vertical overlap that alludes to the Renaissance towers, an almost infinite egg tower can be built, while with a vertical overlap that alludes to the Renaissance towers, imagining a collective for the multitude of guests.

Suffit
Suffit, from the French “enough”, is the result of a simple action and a spontaneous gesture that combine two stone fragments to make up a candle holder. They are pieces that come from other processes, often unknown, but suggest new cut-outs and geometries capable of combining in a potentially infinite game. Not a written rule, not a preconceived form but a series of geometries that intuitively hold up an object as light and ephemeral as a candle. And in the name, almost onomatopoeic, the breath that extinguishes its vibrant flame is evoked, inviting us to slow down and resume a path of calm and common sense.

Aequilibrium
Aequilibrium is a fruit bowl composed of a large plate in white Thassos stone held in balance by a stone cylinder of the same material linked to the first with a polished brass stick. The three elements of different shapes contribute to a state of apparent equilibrium that makes a heavy material such as stone dynamic and ephemeral. This fruit bowl plays with shapes and their geometric nature, freely inspired by the Brazilian architectures of Oscar Niemeyer, building a centerpiece with a strong iconic character, a great little virtuous architecture for the landscape of our tables.
